Welsh Language

The Welsh language is one of the oldest living languages in Europe and a key part of cultural identity in Wales. Originating from the Celtic languages of ancient Britain, Welsh has been spoken for over 1,500 years. Despite periods of decline, the language has survived through literature, poetry, and strong community use. Today, Welsh is an official language of Wales and is taught in schools, used in media, government, and everyday life. Road signs, public services, and broadcasting appear in both Welsh and English. The revival of the Welsh language reflects pride in heritage and a commitment to preserving linguistic diversity for future generations.
