The World Through Cinema

Professor LĂșcia Nagib FBA is an internationally renowned scholar in world cinema, cinematic realism, and intermediality, recognised for her innovative approach that connects film theory, art, and philosophy. She is the author of several influential books, including Realist Cinema as World Cinema: Non-Cinema, Intermedial Passages, Total Cinema (Amsterdam University Press, 2020, open access) and World Cinema and the Ethics of Realism (Bloomsbury, 2011). Her research explores how cinema engages with reality and interacts with other art forms, establishing her as one of the leading figures in global film studies.
