Roman Town Venta Silurum

Venta Silurum was a thriving Roman town in southeast Wales, established around the 1st century AD as the civitas capital of the Silures tribe. Located in modern Caerwent, it is one of the best-preserved Roman towns in Britain, with substantial stone walls still standing. The site includes remains of a forum, basilica, temples, shops, and residential buildings, reflecting organized urban life under Roman rule.
