Later Medieval Weapons

Later medieval weapons, used between the 14th and 16th centuries, reflected significant advances in warfare and metallurgy. Swords became more specialized, with longswords designed for both cutting and thrusting against armored opponents. Polearms such as halberds and poleaxes gained prominence due to their versatility on the battlefield. Ranged weapons, including longbows and crossbows, played a crucial role in warfare, capable of penetrating armor at distance. The increasing use of plate armor led to innovations in weapon design, focusing on precision and force. These weapons were essential tools of knights and soldiers during the final phase of medieval combat.
