Stott Park Bobbin Mill
Stott Park Bobbin Mill is the best-preserved bobbin mill in England and a rare survivor of the Lake District’s industrial past. Built in the 19th century, the mill produced wooden bobbins used in the Lancashire textile industry. Powered originally by water and later by steam, its machinery remains largely intact. Visitors can see original equipment in operation and learn about the workers who lived and laboured there. Managed by English Heritage, Stott Park Bobbin Mill offers a fascinating insight into rural industry, engineering, and everyday life during Britain’s industrial era.
