Speke Hall

Speke Hall is a historic Tudor manor house located in Liverpool, England, near the River Mersey. Built mainly during the sixteenth century, it is one of the finest surviving examples of timber-framed domestic architecture in Britain. The house is notable for its black-and-white exterior, central courtyard, Great Hall, and richly furnished interiors. Its architectural form reflects the social status, domestic life, and defensive concerns of the Norris family, who were associated with the property for several centuries. Surrounded by gardens and woodland, Speke Hall is now managed as a heritage site and offers important evidence of Tudor architecture and regional history.
