Old Sarum Cathedral

Old Sarum Cathedral was an important medieval cathedral located at Old Sarum near Salisbury, England. The first cathedral was built shortly after the Norman Conquest and became an important religious centre. A larger cathedral was later constructed on the site, but difficult conditions eventually encouraged the community to move to nearby Salisbury. Today, only the foundations and archaeological remains of the cathedral survive. Visitors can walk around the site and imagine how the impressive medieval buildings once looked.
