North Elmham Castle

North Elmham Castle is a medieval earthwork site located in Norfolk, England. It occupies the area of an earlier Saxon cathedral and later episcopal residence, demonstrating the long religious and administrative importance of the settlement. In the twelfth century, the site was adapted into a fortified residence associated with the bishops of Norwich.
