Walsingham Abbey

Walsingham Abbey is a historic religious site located in Norfolk, England. It developed from a medieval Augustinian priory closely associated with the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, one of the most important pilgrimage destinations in medieval Europe. Although the priory was dissolved in the sixteenth century, its surviving ruins, gardens, and landscape features preserve evidence of monastic architecture and devotional practice. The site reflects the relationship between pilgrimage, religious patronage, and local economic life.
